The abhorrent killing of Ahmaud Arbery, a black man, by two white supremacists has galvanized the nation in stern rebuke of such reckless hate and evil. To view oneself or one’s race as superior to any other is not only wrong, it is based on the belief that God did not create all people equal and does not love all people equally. Said another way, viewing yourself as superior to another is like telling God who He should love and what He should value. Such an idea is preposterous, but the reality is that some people in this world believe it. One cannot love God and feel superior to another person at the same time; one denies the other. God’s love for us, even with out faults and flaws, is evident in Romans, as it says, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Today, pray for the Arberys and those who stand accused of his killing; pray also for the hearts of those who hate that they would know the love that comes only from God thru Jesus.
